I just got back a week ago from the Lakeland Healing Revival. Bunch of Jesus Freaks down there- the kind that i have in the past been scared to be trapped with. So here's how the story goes.

Missy , Gage's mom ( brain tumor , remember?) was watching the revival for nights on end and she felt like God told her to take Gage to get healed . she called me on a tuesday morning and told me she was flying into orlando the very next day- i asked her, did she have a plan? a hotel room? a rental car? her answer was no- she hadnt thought that far ahead... I immediately know i was to go and help her out . Wes was already off, there were no worries. My friend decided to be spontaneous and come with me.
I am not going to go into the whole minute by minute detail of what happened when we were there, but i have to tell you what i felt/heard even smelled.
You walk in , and the presence of GOD is so thick and heavy , it about blows you down. I didnt know what that feeling was at first....
So during the praise and worship is when it all started clicking- i am a music girl and this is the way God knew he had to get to me. It felt like an acid trip- the music was boom boom ing/ the bass was so loud, it was pulsing through the bottom of my feet and resignating all through my body. My stomach hurt SO BAD, like i was being filled up, and the only way to relieve it was to bend over. there were lots of people doing that.... weird pains, but felt good as well.
Will you believe me if i told you i saw angels? they were waltzing , 24 of them, around the top of the 8000 people in the auditorium . they were so beautiful . i kept closing my eyes and blinking to make sure they were really there. they were. do i sound like a nut job? well, i dont care. that is the beauty of it all. i simply dont care what others think. so yes that was my acid trip.
the next was the drunk part- people everywehre, including myself, were all very drunk but not off of alcohol . it was hard to walk, it felt like a very good buzz./ imagine if you were at a party in a house, and you kept going from room to room, not meeting a stranger, becoming fast friends with the girl in the line for the bathroom... we were all laughing at everything and there was such a JOY unexplainable.
Next was the smell. i kept smelling something. i was asking my friends over and over, "do you smell that". they were looking at me like i was a crazy!! maybe i was!! the smell had a touch of sandalwood, cologne, patchoulie , salt water all mixed into one fantastic lovely smell. i was going up to all these boys worshipping and sniffing them ,but no one had that smell on them. have you ever heard of the fragrance of the lord? it was there . so bizarre. even when i got home, the smell coming out of my plug ins was not clean linen, but this smell. i know i know. i have probably lost most of you by now. so that smell gently reminded me of a happy time of drugs, because of the tad of patchoulie- i relate that past fun.
now onto the coke/crank/ crystal meth. my senses were all so heightened, as they are today. everything is brighter, louder, clearer, tastes weird, sometimes better, sometimes like cardboard. and the incessant need to talk talk talk and not be able to get my words out fast enough.
I felt like what God was saying to me this past week was this . You mourn drugs because you feel like they were fun and exciting? well, let me show you what i can do. the exact exact exact same feelings, but all brought about while worshipping me!! did you know i could do that?? see, told you i am fun! i am the MOST FUN!! the feelings, the closeness of worshipping and being in the presence of dear girlfriends ( we stayed with SARA while we were there), was just such a JOY. and it brought me closer to HIM. HIM who is SOOO fond of me. and you too.

Where'd ya go? I missed you so. Seems like it's been forever since you've been gone.

Yeah i missed you too. Again with the rut of blogging.

I have a question for you. The other day, after the gym, i went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I had all kinds of exercise endorphins going on, was pumped from kicking ass on the cardio machines, and didn't take my mp3 off , just had it hanging out of my hoodie pocket. i had my new favorite song on repeat. repeat. repeat. repeat. driving myself crazy, but digging my song, so i was listening to it while doing some shopping. Of course i ran into people i knew (??) and got embarrassed, like "AH. common people . i can't be bothered talking to you while i have this great music on" yes. i felt rude doing so, but i was SOOOO enjoying myself.
blah blah so my question to you is... am i the rudest girl ever?

Somethings just amuse me . not sure if it is my own twisted self, but like the music, ear buds in the store. it makes me so HAPPY.

Sometimes i bring a beer bottle to sip while i relax in a nice hot bubble bath. everytime, i contemplate throwing the empty bottle away in the trash, because something about it just tickles me. i never get up the nerve to do it, because i realize it is totally no class to do so, but i would love to leave it there for a week or so, peeking its naughty amber neck out of the trash. i am a freak.

i read all of these BEAUTIFUL blogs. really, i have the best blogroll around, in my opinion. some are poets, some are philosophers, some are mom blogs, some are famous blogs, really a whole mix of things... and then i think , here is my little blog, not doing much for the universe but making me happy and giving me a place to vent.

i would love to print it all out one day and give it to my kids... after i am dead, of course. i couldnt handle the questions they might bring . lol.

here's to a beautiful week with lots of blogupdates to keep me entertained... yes . please.

The love of your children is immeasurable. My heart is swelling today - could it be the icehouses? perhaps.... lol.

Before you accuse me of having a MOM BLOG-GOD FORBID-

Today was Julia's dance recital. She was on a special peforming team this year ( last year was just a tap/jazz class). She did so well performing around town and we went and videoed every single minute. Today at the big Koger Center in downtown was their recital. Let me preface it by this- Last night, we went to the concert, where the competing groups and company groups performed.... I have seen plenty of Broadway and let me just tell you that this particular company that Julia dances at is almost broadway quality. Her studio, Southern Strutt has been named one of the top dance studios in the US. How did little columbia mangage that and how did i just happen to enroll her there, not knowing, just knowing it was sweet and the closest to my house?? LOL

so back to the concert. OMGGGGGGGGG. I was BLOWN away. it was so fantastic.... other studios around town seem almost embarrassing. not that i want my kid to be worried about this stuff at age SIX, i am not that neurotic, but hey, if your kid is into dance, this is the place to be. They win National Awards and in 2006 were the best jazz studio in the US. WOW. anyways, ... watching these big girls in the concert got me all torn up inside. Their moms have been taking them to dance 3-5 times a week, so proud of them , their dads make jokes about writing checks, family vacations are to Nationals in LA, etc.. and it just melted me. what parents will do for their kids and what i am excitedly looking forward to in the near future....it was SENIOR night and the girls who were seniors in highschool made special tributes to their parents- you know they are not really involved with school activities because of how much time dance takes... so this studio is their family and where they spend their time. on the big encore number, the seniors came out wearing caps with their costumes.. snif snif... I am a wreck. my daughter is six for crying out loud. it just makes me so happy knowing that she can and will amount to something so great and perfect- whether dance, academics, whatever it is she is going to choose to do, i cannot wait to see it- like, i wish i could fast forward time just to get a sneak peek at what this cool kid is going to do with herself. she is amazing. she was amazing at dancing today!!! who knows what next year holds- we are going to keep going with the performing team that she is on now, razzle dazzle, but try out for the pre-company too and see where we go. every parent thinks their child has the "talent" but julia has the determination- and more so that that the self-esteem....... i say 'go girl"

I am a proud parent today. my heart is swollen with pride and my heart is bursting with thankfullness for what a neat kid God trusted us with.
