nothing says summer like bbq and ballgames
2006-06-07

I love summer. There are so many things i love about grilling out. too many veggies to name, and i also will venture into shrimp and tuna-no landroamers though. We had the best/freshest dinner the other night.
Tomatoes with Italian herbs and olive oil on the grill
asparagus pan sauteed in garlic butter
fresh corn
coriander and coarse black pepper seared tuna
5 grain baguette with real butter.
it was so good.
i had to crack up. i went to get the chicken for the kids off the grill, and i come back inside and wes has the camera taking pics of the food. he has been reading too many foodie blogs lately. had to join in the fun.
tonight we went to a baseball game(photos above this. blogger is getting on my nerves- no pictures would publish and now everything is all backwards! oh well). God. i love it- sitting outside roasting till the sun sets, feet propped up, seeing the gorgeous moon and stars, eating boiled peanuts and tossing the shells underfoot, drinking cokes, seventh inning stretch, people watching, taking random pics, head back staring out of the sunroof on the way home . the whole atmosphere is phenom. it doesnt matter if you like baseball or not. it is the "being there" that is the fun. a friend of our's son plays so we had a good time cheering him on while the kids went up and down up and down the bleachers. this is all after a day of me and julia at the pool (she swimming and diving, and me reading a trashy book!), and wes and blake playing golf. wow. i just re-read. this all sounds very stepford. anyway, the summer is starting off nice. tomorrow, the "family"-not me... is off to see grandma (wes' mom who lives 2 hrs away). i am looking forward to it because a. i get some "me" time. and b. i need to study for my other test , which is tuesday.
i also got a lovely present in the mail which i am going to share about later in its own post. it was so sweet and perfect.
also- i am dying. i am working out till it hurts. today was pilates. i think i prefer yogalates the best and tomorrow is rep reebok ( a ton of repetitions of weights). go me.

You are such summer people. I avoid going outside as much as possible. Even at my mom's we usually don't go in the pool till early evening/dusk. So glad to see you're having fun, though.

love your shoes in the feet propped pic, too!
oh, and I meant to say that yes, of everyone, you were the first to guess I was PG, (a few months ago), but I had JUST found out myself, and I wasn't ready to say anything, so I deflected!
