I am one sick chick. i cannot tear myself away from the coverage of Katrina. I keep thinking about Teresa, my college roommate who lives in Ocean Springs, which was right in the middle of the devestation. I haven't really heard one word about that specific city, but It is right on the coast of Biloxi, and is a teeny tiny town. They had a donut shop , a very successful famous one, and i wonder if Tato-Nut donuts withstood the hurricane, although looking at the news, i doubt it.
I have so many mixed emotions. For one, it keeps pissing me off how they are pronouncing things... here's a little gulf-coast knowledge so you wont sound like Larry King
Biloxi- buh-lux-ee (NOT Buh LOCKS see)
Pass Christian -- Pass Christy-ann (not pass chrish-chun)
Ponchartrain- ponch-cha-train-- (not ponch-char-tran)
all of these rescue copters gettting people off their roofs.. wth? why didnt these people get out? i realise a lot may be invalids , or whatever excuses they had, but come on... they have rescued 1200 now, including KIDS> if i didnt have a way , i would have called someone, anyone to help me get and the kids get out....
So sad.

Let's see ... Julia is at preschool now, and i have a ton to do. there is a huge sale here , called tot-trade- a big consignment sale, and i need to label everything, but since i have till tomorrow, i feel like that is all the time in the world... i am such a procrasinator. i hope to make 100-150 with all this kids stuff i have from last year.
Blake started soccer last night, well, was supposed to.. we get to the field and the heavens fell out of the sky!! Oh well, he was excited- he got his uniform. btw, we have 6 pair of cleats that he has outgrown! anyone need some ?> LOL. tot trade isnt too keen on cleats.
We also signed julia up for Jazz.. that is hard to find for a 4 yr old class, but we finally decided to do a tap jazz combo class. she is very excited!! starts in 2 weeks. omg she is practically designed for jazz, if you knew how sassy and cute she was, PLUS how good she can move. she keeps saying NO ballet!! i think that may move too slow for her.

Anyone listen to the Orange County Supertones? omg i love them. they are a christian Sublime, which is one of my favorite bands ever...but the Supertones are cool! i am listening to them now....

"I don't always thank you for the rough days and the hard times in my life, even though i know i should"
"Though i haven't had the best of days , I just want to stop and thank you ANYWAYS!" can this count as my "daily devotion"?
here's to no bitching today!! Life is good. sorry for complaining about Larry king lol. i am off to find the supertones lyrics now.

I think the same thing about the people who didn't get out. I guess maybe they didn't have a car or gas or money, but my goodness, they knew a giant hurricane was coming and the news was predicting the floods before hand. Stand by the side of the road and beg for a ride out of town if you have to. Especially if you have kids. Did you see the little toddler girl crossing from one roof to another on a plywood plank and then being lifted to the helicopter. I cried for her, but at least she's alive.

I need soccer cleats! I need size 9 or 10 for Alison, and 1 or 2 for Andrew.

I think people always think that it's not going to happen to them, and that the people who actually evacuate are sissies. Everytime we have a hurricane coming, there are ALWAYS people here heading OUT TO SURF instead of battening down the hatches!

I am so sad too. Thanks for the pronouciation guide. I would've never known! Trying not to watch the news, it makes me want to run and hide. I am so scared. I'll take some of those Cleats. Have any 13's? Marcus wants to do soccer.
Tell Julia ballet is the foundation for all dance, gymnastics and cheerleading. She will be so cute in Jazz. :)
