Gosh, Katrina is about to wipe out New Orleans for sure!! They said 1 million evacuated out of 1.2 million- the highest number ever. is anyone else addicted to the news right now?? i am so scared for that city. sheesh it is already under water. ugg all the septic systems and coffins will be floating!! so far below sea level. i am watching larry king and they evacuated dolphins from an aquarium there, and put them in a hotel pool. there are apparantly a lot of tourists there that cant fly out and there are no rental cars either. this is just horrible... all the people in the Superdome. Hope that stays up safely. Some doomsday guy is saying that 44,000 will die , biggest tragedy to hit US, and only 3000 died in 911. yikes.

I have a real love for the NW panhandle of the US. I have lived in Mobile and Pensacola. I travel through that area on I 10 every vacation. I know the roads they are speaking of. I cannot imagine how horrible this is going to be. Pray for them. Lord help them.

I just finished writing about it on my blog, and then came over here. We are just waiting around to see what kind of devastation befalls these people. I'm thinking I want to help in some way, but I don't know what I could do. I'm going to see about donating blood because they always need that after a rescue effort. I know what you mean about the people in the superdome! I was wondering if it would hold up too.

We visited Orleans in 2002. I can't believe it's going to be hit! Hope it won't be so bad after all.

BTW, I'm SAHM right now, and going to school but my specialty was OB/GYN (what I preceptored in) I'm not sure if that will still be the case when I get my BSN anymore

A friend I used to work with lives in Ocean Springs, MS which is pretty much Gulfport. Her husband is in the
Air Force and is in Alaska right now so she went to stay with a friend in Georgia. Her house is about two blocks from the beach.
