...the coffee table properly windexed. the linen scented candle burning... the crumbs vacuumed... the couch cushions rotated and fluffed. the pictures dusted...the house is clean.

the kids are bathed and the movie is ready for them. The mushroom cream sauce is simmering and the crepes have been made and are resting on wax paper. The godiva chocolate creme brulee has been setting in the fridge since last night, with the turbinado sugar and torch ready to flame them up. The corn dip and roasted red pepper feta dip are done. the french bread is toasted. the sangria is in the fridge. the wine glasses wiped spotless.

wes is in the shower and i am dressed. The company is on the way. This is my favorite way to spend a Saturday night. Joy unspeakable.

Let's see...the majority of the peanuts and green peas are picked out of the carpet, the dirty dishes are actually in the sink instead of on the end tables in the living room, the ice cream is slowly melting on the kitchen counter b/c I'm too lazy to go get it, and the sound of "She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comessssss!..." is loudly screaming from the boy's room...ahhh, isn't life grand?

No, wait! The dry laundry is in the dryer waiting for me to get it out and put it away. The next load is waiting to go in. Since the dishes have actually made it to the sink, they are now screaming to be washed. The floor is not content to be picked clean, and insists on being vaccuumed. My teeth would like to know if I actually plan on brushing them today, while my body asks if it gets to be cleaned as well. Of course, the bathrooms are wondering if they ever get to get a little scrub behind the ears....Ahhh, now life is grand...

I hope you guys are having a great time! Let me know if you want me to come over on Monday. I'll be glad to, assuming I can!

YES! it was sooo much fun. we love our friends who have teenagers because there is no child care issue. we ate and played hoopla (a cranium extension) and just talked and laughed.
