Whew today was a busy one! I put the kids in our bed at 730 to "watch a movie" and they were out by 731! bless their little exhausted selves!! We were invited to our friends house for a cookout.... we got there, helped prepare food and were thankful that it quit raining long enough to bbq the shrimp and burgers. we ate, then joy and i played cards while the guys all went outside and played a little baseball. actually wesley followed their almost 2 yr old around the whole time and kept him out of the road. ate watermelon, kids played, wes left early to go to work, and by 300 we were done!! kids were starting to get on each others nerves. lol so we left and on the way home, i remembered about an invite we had gotten to a SS class party right down the road from us. i decided to pop in and see if the party was happening still. sure enough, TONS of cars. it was supposed to be a ski/tube /boat ride bbq, but since the weather was so nasty, i doubted all of the water activities. we got there and me and a few of the other ladies decided to walk down to the lake with blake and julia and see if we could see some of the older kids on the boat. blake saw the lake and all the kids swimming in the sub zero water and immediately had to get in. i put their swimsuits on and they happily jumped in. nutty kids. then he caught eye of the boat, and the man driving it told them he would take a break from taking the teens out tubing and let the little ones get a ride. we piled in the boat and off we went. he just took us on a quick tour of lake murray. it was so cold but lips quivering and all, they were happy as bugs!! nester the guy who gave us a ride, let blake stand up and look over the rain splattered windshield, and blake thought he was all that! it was fun.
i am glad we ended up stopping at the par-tay. how often do my kids get to go on a boat.? oh that is the other dream we have , besides owning a beach house. gotta have the boat to go with it, right?? even though i have heard the joke enough times... the first best day of my life was when we got a boat. the next day best of my life was the day we sold it!! BA HA we'll take sea kayaks at this point.
so , fun memorial day. i am thankful for the people protecting our country and it gets on my nerves the ones who protest. we are already there, so lets just support....doesnt matter what you think of bush or the war, since it is already happening.
Thanks Wes (he's a gulf war veteran!)
Have a good night. i am off to read some more blogs. sheesh this thing is addictive. night
