9/11

2007-09-11

I remember where I was when I heard about the World Trade Center being crashed by airplanes. We lived in Charleston then, and I had a 9 month old and a little over 1 1/2 yr old. I was talking to my mom on the phone and feeding the kids breakfast. The Today Show was on TV. I saw it happen and told my mom to turn on the TV. Obviously we were shocked, but then again, another plane. I just cried, and Blake came over to me , concerned. They showed a pic of Bin Laden and Blake said "mean man" . Everytime he saw Bin Laden on tv, he would say mean man mean man.

I cannot believe it has been 5 yrs. Yahoo news says they are trying to make today a day of good deeds. I like that. I am a big believer in good deeds, little nice-ities for people. I know this is a stretch for some people, because they were not brought up that way, or it is not their nature, but today should be a day when you just BLESS someone. do it up big. We have this kid who goes to our church and is in the discipleship program- it costs a fortune, but we have vowed to help him out every month. it hurts a little in the pocket area, but I think it should have to hurt to mean something. He is worth our money and really appreciates it so It is a joy to give.

Sigh -in other news.. I have three house deals going. I am a dual agent on one, so it is twice the work (twice the $$ too) and then another buyer. Oct will be my best month yet. It has kept me crazy busy. Realtors earn their money, believe me. Everything is back in the swing of things and fall is in the air.

I miss blogging. Did everyone give up on me>? LOL

Yes, I've been checking and missing you.

My mom called from work and asked met to turn the TV on. They didn't have a TV there, but the radio was related the incidents. I remember her impression being that a plane had accidentally hit the tower, then I saw the second one hit and I had to tell her how bad it really looked. I remember how terrifying it was because they hit the Pentagon and then another one crashed in Pennsylvania. Of course your thought goes straight to yourself. Charleston is a major port city and we have military bases. If they aimed for Pennsylvania (this was before we knew what really happened), would they come for us or some other small town? I remember being glued to my TV that day. Andrew had to tell me over and over that the big plane crashed the building. Alison was still a baby, so she was happy that I was sitting and holding her all day.

I was on the way to CofC for class, and they were reporting in on 96 Wave (sigh...). I thought it was a joke, b/c 96 never did serious stuff or news or anything. I called Trey at home and he told me it was on tv, too. That was just freaky.

Good luck with the houses.

"Realtors earn their money, believe me."

No shit. I have used a buyers agent both times I've boughten a house and it was worth every penny. We even found the second place ourselves and still used a buyers agent.
