I realize that we are Industry people. We have worked and will always work near/closely to the Restaurant scene. Wesley is REALLY enjoying his new job. He feels like he actually has ownership in it, he is part of the community, member of the chamber, ribbon cutting tomorrow night, etc... and there are a lot of nice perks that come with his position .... (i'll stir fry in my wok-- dont you love the beastie boys?.. sorry back to post)
Yes back to the perks. We have never had perks at past jobs, except a free meal when we came in, but nada else. We still get the free meals and I enjoy coming in with my co-workers and being able to have my husband treat us... feels nice. Well, he has become friendly with other community restaurant managers. We went to Bonefish Grill the other night and had a gift certificate that they had given him to MORE than cover our food, but the manager (who wes buys beer for all the time) comped all of our food and drinks... NICE!! and then we went to another cool Charleston copycat place (the owner/manager went to Johnson and Wales where Wes -- and Trey-christi's husband went-- had to drop my family's name!! LOL) anyway, the guy sent us over two appetizers, we had drinks, 2 entrees and 2 kids meals.,.. all comped! SA-WEET!! so we have hook -ups all over the place is what i mean.... and they all come to his place for late night food and beverage...the Ale house has a glorious after hours scene. its so fun! anyway...
So today , i got my car back finally and it was nasty dirty, so we took it to one of those local detail places that has ladies day on wednesday, will clean it vacuum it, armor all, etc.... for 25 bucks (normally 39 ). We are in the parking lot GUTTING my car, told you it was nasty, and two people from the Ale house come up who also work at the car place.... they gave us the mad hook up!! charged us 10 bucks for my car, 10 for his car... so nice!! then the kid spent almost an HOUR going over our cars. Wes told him after a while, that it looked great, but the cute kid said "he wasnt letting his boss leave without it looking just right". NICE!!!
I was sitting outside waiting for it to be ready~there were about 20 other people out there, and i was people watching. This one snoothead walked over to her NICE car when the guy blew the horn that it was ready, got in , didnt say a word, and drove off. I was seriously ticked!! like, enough to chase her down if i could have. WHAT ? NO TIP???? she was driving an acura, in a tennis skirt, fake tan and nails, looked to have had plenty of money, and didnt even say thank you, looks nice, no cash... these guys work for little money and count on tips... and wes' worker says they make horrible money with tips.. says a lot of people do not tip. i say, if you cannot afford to tip a couple of bucks, then don't go. this is where my saga begins. I hate non-tippers or bad tippers.... you know our bill at Bonefish that night was only 25 bucks, but we left 12. at the other place, foxfire, our bill was around 70, but we ate free, so we tipped 20. today at the car place, our bill was supposed to be 50 bucks BUT we paid 20, so we tipped 20. it is only right.
i realize i OVER TIP. it is the former server in me. it is the restaurant person in Wes. BUT come on!! you gotta at least tip 20 % and more if ya got it or if service was good!!
on the list
Servers
Bartender (at least a buck a drink!!YES EVERY TIME!)
hairdressers ( i give mine $10 a time)
manicure/pedicure-- at least 20%
car washers- a few bucks at least!
pet groomers -20%
lawn maintenance -20%
babysitters-a few extra bucks- i pay mine 5 an hour plus usually an extra 5 .
I am sure i am leaving out a whole list of people.... and it was a long post to tell you how annoyed i got today watching snootyface NOT TIP> I would rather give it away and make someone's day, then keep it :)
Oh we also got free hockey tickets and a free hotel night :)
PERKY BABY!!!!
song of the day Weezer- Buddy Holly

pizza delivery drivers?

Tonight my first run was two deliveries. The first was to a really nice house in Legend Oaks...the second to a trailer on a dumpy street...I assumed the first would tip well, the second prob. not at all. However, the first gave me the change on the dollar ($.49), and the second gave me four bucks plus the change on his dollar! You never can tell, and I've noticed the rich ones typically don't tip well, and are the last to want to part w/their money.

OMG I didn't know you should tip the pet groomer!! I'm so embarrassed!! lol Yes, I hate non tippers and bad tippers. I had lunch out with Mason this afternoon, the bill was 11.75 we tipped ten bucks! lol I over tip too, but these people are not making any money. I hate working in a restaurant. Glad Wes is so happy.

As someone who works for tips, I LOVE the overtippers. We remember you, and your pizza is always delivered first. I often bring little extras for you too.

I didn't know you were supposed to tip car wash people, but I've never had my car professionally washed, so at least I'm not guilty of anything.
