Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes, even if it was for just one day
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away
Wouldn't it be good to be on your side , the grass is always greener over there
Wouldn't it be good if could live without a care
I used to work at the best restaurant (IMO) on Pensacola Beach called Jubilee. I was a 20 yr old hostess in a crew of other young sun-dressed beach girls. . I distinctly remember Grouper Chardonnay being the best thing I had ever tasted . The upstairs, or "topside" was fine dining. The "beachside" was more peel and eat shrimp, crab claws, etc...They had live music 5 nights a week. The band was a duo who's best songs were "Brown-eyed girl" (my daughter thinks this song was written about her- humm maybe we oughta quit singing it to her daily! LOL) and under the boardwalk. really beachy songs. Everyone danced and drank their signature drink, the bushwasker. On Friday and Saturday night, if I had to work the late night, i got to watch this other band, no idea their name or what they looked like, anything.... but they did a cover of "wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes" and from that time, i have always LOVED that song. YOu have any songs that you know you love but dont remember them till you get a deja vu or a flashback? Well, today i got one of those OH YEAH I LOVED THAT for this song It makes me happy thinking back on those times. I was at the podium, watching the band and looking out over the decks at the soundside with the moon and stars just glowing. The pretty white sand.... ohhh.... To die for!!After work, we would walk down to the bar owned by Jubliee, called Captn Funs and ALL the chefs and servers would be there . Good times.
I guess i have always been a restaurant person. I worked in a restaurant all through college, ~ hostess at Jubilee, then a cocktail waitress at this HUGE nightclub in Pensacola called Seville. Then out to Cali I went, and met my precious hubby at a restaurant. WE moved to TX (more rest. for both of us~I tried my hand at bartending. ) , then to SC so he could go to chef school. We both worked at restaurants all through his school. This has always been our livelihood. One day maybe we can have our own. How crazy are we?? (Sara?) Good think we are both such foodies. Raise your hand if you are a true foodie . LOL long post I know
On another note, I have pink-eye! And went to the eye doc today to get more contacts but because of my infection, no contacts for a week!! I was forced to buy expensive glasses. TG for insurance. I don't get them till Friday , so I am home or my chauffeur drives me.
BTW, does anyone know the song I quoted... Go look it up at limewire or wherever you get music-by Nick Kershaw
Night Night blogger friends.

My hand is raised. I have been a foodie since day one, though, I don't really love it. I will be happy to be out of the rest. business. But if it was TRULY my own, things might be different, like I would make sure the A/C worked well.
Pink eye? WHere did you pick up that nasty germ? You poor girl.
