come on, let's have some fun.

I am not sure about other places, but here, when you are a realtor, your pic goes on business cards and in newspaper and homes magazines. i am really freaked out about this for a few reasons
.1. i am the MOST unphotogenic person alive. period. the end.
2. my smile always looks fake unless someone is making me laugh. and i have a big laugh. like out loud laugh.
3. i think most realtor pics, and i mean 99 out of 100 are cheesy!! i cannot stand pics that look like yearbook pictures, all the little suits lined up in a row. if you know me by now, you can see how i would not and could not fit into this mold. if my friends saw a pic of me in a business suit, after they picked themselves off the floor for laughing hysterically, they would ask me what was i thinking?
4. the worst are the glamour shot ones. case point.

can you imagine me with a business card with me all dolled up like this patriotic gal?? omg. my friends would divorce me.
we learned this term called puffing... i.e. "this house is the prettiest house on the block". another example of puffing is this pic. now this girl does not show up to houses dressed like this and if she did , would you not run for your life?
~ cant you see me now. Gina Last Name, Lake Property Specialist. I just cannot stomach these realtors who chose to do this to themselves. Ok , let me ask another question. do people pick their realtor because of their "headshot"? i think not. Sure, i think you have to portray yourself somewhat professional and be semi attractive, but really now....Which leads me to todays photoshoot. i had my camo shorts and high heel sandals on (ROFL, i could not find flops and the driveway was HOT so i put on my heeled sandals ) i figured it was only going to be the top showing anyways, so why not. I got Wes to be my photographer as i posed myself in various places in various trees. the neighbors trees across the street were the backdrop. none were coming out right- all that fakey smile that i detest. we called blake over to tell jokes. that didnt work. so then he started to tickle me and made me laugh a few times. after a few shots, you can see the look of annoyance creeping into the shot, so tickling was out. next thing you know, he has picked up a stick and is popping me on the rear with it. little freak. lol. it did make me laugh, that and the dogs wizzing on every available bush.here's what we took. let me know what you think. and dont laugh at me. this is hard work. it is hard to submit your pic to the world. but i figure if i am going to be in the newspaper, websites and SHOCK the grocery store free real estate magazines section, i better get over myself.

Around here they put the realestate headshot pictures on bus benches, signs, billboards, cards, you name it.
I think you should rent a giant lazer and have yours burned into the side of the moon. Talk about advertising. I'd buy whatever you were selling.

just take your camera and take pictures of yourself.
step 1: put on make up etc
step 2: hold the camera as far as your hand reaches, pointing at your face but a bit higher than you (a bit). If you hold it at the height of your chin it won't look good.
step 3: hold the camera a bit diagonally. It lengthens the face.
step 4: think of the ridiculousness of the situation, smile and click.
step 5: repeat as needed until you get a good shot.

Now this, dear Gina, is what you want to avoid in your realtor picture. :o)
I used her as my "what not to do" example. My photo is very simple and not at all Glamour Shottish. Maybe I'll get up the courage to post it. Hmmmm... so which one did you end up picking? ;o)
