strawberry pickin'

Ok, here are some pics. my kids strawberry picking. blake is the one in the green shirt. he brought a friend with him. when did we start this bringing a friend junk? just kidding. his friend is very well mannered and wonderful.
also, blake has had an animal collection since he was practically born (along with a postcard collection.. ahem!... and thank you one special blogger friend for "hooking a sister up"-it is now in his special stash of postcards) oh where was i? oh yeah animals. so we went to the zoo on thursday, which inspired an animal classification exercise as we lined up all the mammals together, the reptiles, etc... we did this once a week when he was 2 or so, and it brought back memories- very sweet memories. did i warn you that this is a "mommy blog" today???? dont puke yet.

I remember when Blake was oh so little, and he had a book with animals in it, and you guys were SO excited that he could say 'lion' I think it was. Or maybe it was 'dog'. You know, maybe it was both! I just remember thinking, "And?" Ahhh, how times have changed, and how very excited I get everytime Taryn says "daw" when she sees the dog!
