Lunesta is from the devil.
After months of weariness and sleeplessness, i went to my doctor yesterday to ask her about my insomnia. She asked me all kinds of questions, was i depressed ( yeah cause i can't sleep!), did something tragic happen lately, major stress (except for the ladies going on the retreat asking about where we are going to eat every meal and how much gas is going to be...ugg!! ), etc...nothing i could think of to understand the lack of sleep. It really is annoying , this no sleep thing. if i get woken up by a child, a dog or a husband , i am toast for the rest of the night. I lay there for hours and hours and sometimes cry because of the frustration of it all. So, my doc gave me a sample of lunesta, and told me if it did okay, to call her by friday, and she would call in a prescription for it. She said to take it with food because it can leave a metallic taste in your mouth. I took it with food, and almost choking of the "metallic-ness" of its nastiness, got a bite of cereal(HA HA!!) from Wesley. It was so nasty, but i though, hell, if it can make me sleep , i will suffer with a little "tin can in my mouth" taste.
Well, i woke up this morning , (after various episodes of waking up all through the night) with the raunchy taste still in my mouth. We are talking every time i swallow, it permeates through my throat. OMG it is SO nasty. when is it going to go away?
I called my doc today, and said i would like to try ambien please, and thank you.

Good luck on the sleep thing! Ewww...metal taste is gross.
I know how crappy it feels not to get any sleep. Now that Rachel is sleeping better (not perfect, but I'll take it!) I feel like a new woman. Hopefully you will soon, too!

I like Valerian herb, available in pills at the drug store. It doesn't put you to sleep, but when you do fall asleep, you sleep deeply.
Ambien puts me out, but in the morning, I don't feel like I've slept at all. The two work well together, tho. The Ambien puts you out and the valerian makes you feel rested.

What do you mean you didn't win a BEA? I saw your name on the list of winners.

I hope you find something that works soon. I suffered from insomnia for a while when I was having some serious stress issues. It takes over your life, so I can sympathize with you. Plain old Tylenol PM worked wonders for me. Sorry if that's obvious, but have you tried that?

If you enjoy psychedelic trips, then Ambien's for you. A couple of weeks ago, I went to the little town of Bethlehem and back with it. :)
